Chris Post is a Managing Director in the Corporate Finance segment and is based in Denver. He is a member of FTI Consulting’s Telecom, Media & Technology and Clean Energy industry practices and a member of FTI Capital Advisors, LLC. Mr. Post brings more than 15 years of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and restructuring advisory experience across a range of industries.
Mr. Post has acted on both the sell-side and buy-side, advising middle-market and corporate clients on strategic transactions. Recent transactions include advising on the sale of a 114-megawatt (MW) wind farm in North Texas; advising a global solar development and engineering procurement construction company on the divestiture of 81 MW of solar projects located across the eastern United States; and advising on the sale of 15 MW of solar projects located in Southern California.
Mr. Post has also provided buy-side assistance to a business development company subsidiary of one of the largest commercial banks in the U.S., with principle focus on the acquisition of development-stage and operating renewable energy assets. He advised the creditors’ committees in the U.S. bankruptcy proceedings for Abengoa Bioenergy and Abeinsa, in each case providing advisory services around the proposed sale of the debtors’ first and second-generation bioenergy assets.
In addition to his investment banking work, Mr. Post regularly advises companies, creditors and equity sponsors in corporate restructurings, providing business plan development and review, valuation and liquidation analyses, competitive benchmarking, distressed asset marketing and sales, vendor management and the development and implementation of plans of reorganization. Recent cases Mr. Post has been involved with include Abengoa, Conergy, LDK Solar, Relativity Media, Source Interlink, the Allant Group and Broadview Networks. He has also held interim executive management positions for distressed companies, most recently serving as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for one of the largest magazine distribution companies in North America.
Mr. Post has also led operational and financial due diligence reviews on behalf of private equity and commercial banking clients, with areas of focus including performance improvement, cost structure assessment and optimization, analysis of financial forecasts and synergy diligence.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Post spent over seven years in the corporate and investment banking division of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was a member of the bank’s large corporate debt restructuring group.
Mr. Post holds a B.B.A. in Finance and a B.A. in Economics, with honors, from Southern Methodist University. He is also a CFA charterholder.Back to Experts
